My Book is FINALLY Written!

The Debut of Legacy of Pain

I began this novel in 2007 when no one in my family could answer the riddle of my grandmother having an illigitimate child in 1915-ish. How did it happen, how did she meet my grandfather, and how she came to live in the small Maine town of Garland? My creative mind started working at it like a booger you can't quite get to, and I began handwriting the story I imagined. Three large notebooks later, it was a real story.

I let it sit under my desk for two years before I transposed it onto my laptop. Note to self: learn to write on laptop to avoid this step in the future. It took up a whole lot of my time, and is now taking up my brother Ken's time, who is editing it. I have in mind what I want for the cover photo; now I just have to take a day with my camera and go find it.

Then it's ready for epublishing. While I would love to have an agent and publisher, I've been that route before with a previous book and unless you're Stephen King, they don't even answer their mail.

The book will be available through Amazon and all the other big epublishers. The actual publisher is Smashwords. I have used them for my two previous books, and they're easy to work with.

I am already at work on the next book. It's November, which is National Novel Writer's Month (NaNoWriMo) and the idea is to write a 50,000 word book in 30 days. It's a great way to keep on task for one month!

I'm excited about my writing. I've wanted to be a writer since I could hold a pencil, and this month I actually got some money from book sales. Now THAT'S exciting!
